1. Who We Are

ServiceLink (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online marketplace connecting customers with local service professionals across Ireland. Our contact email is team.service.link@gmail.com.

We are the data controller for personal data collected through this platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data — name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register.
  • Profile data — business name, phone number, website, service description, location, and images uploaded by service professionals.
  • Inquiry data — name, email, and message submitted via service inquiry forms.
  • Review data — ratings and written reviews submitted by registered users.
  • Payment data — subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card details. We receive subscription status and billing period information from Stripe.
  • Usage data — standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To display your service listing to potential customers.
  • To send you service-related notifications (approval, rejection, inquiries).
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe.
  • To respond to your support enquiries.
  • To improve the platform and ensure its security.

Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (platform security and improvement), and legal obligation where required.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Stripe — for payment processing.
  • Microsoft Azure — for hosting and image storage.
  • Google — if you use Google Sign-In.

Your public service listing (name, description, location, images, contact details) is visible to all visitors of the platform.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team.service.link@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland.

7. Cookies

We use cookies for essential platform functionality. See our Cookie Policy for details.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
